About Us

The Valley Cat Project was conceived out of desperate need. The Cessnock LGA, like many around the country, was (and still is) suffering an epidemic of abandoned, stray and orphaned cats and kittens. Our project is a standing testament to the change that is possible when people come together against suffering and unfairness.

Since our official launch in March 2023, the team at Valley Cat Rescue Project has worked tirelessly to advocate for stray, abandoned and orphaned kittens in our local region. We have trapped, desexed, rehabilitated, rehomed and/or reunited well over 100 cats in just a few short years of operation.

We are so grateful to the community for their ongoing support. None of this would be possible without our incredible foster carers and  financial supporters.
We know that there is always more to be done - but if success is measured by purring cats and adoring adopters - we're definitely on the right track.
